Kennedy Hagens, Associate
Challenges are gifts that force us to search for a new center of gravity. Don’t fight them. Just find a new way to stand.
Kennedy is an Associate in our Health Care and EMERGE practice groups.
Kennedy’s practice primarily focuses on transactional health care matters and corporate regulatory compliance. Outside of advising on general health care regulatory compliance, she supports M&A deals for large health care companies, provides licensing board defense for various professions, and assists new practitioners with getting off the ground. Her practical experience includes healthcare advocacy, labor & employment disputes, and advising for healthcare delivery systems and providers.
Prior to joining Gordon Feinblatt, Kennedy served as a law clerk at a local law firm. She provided regulatory guidance to hospital systems, long-term care facilities, and behavioral health care organizations. She also drafted legal documents related to health care compliance including Medicaid, Medicare, HIPAA, and FDA regulations, and prepared pleadings for labor and employment disputes. Kennedy also has experience navigating civil disputes and negotiating agreements on behalf of low-income Baltimore residents, most notably securing a $5,000 debt dismissal and subsidized housing for a client. As a former member of the Alternative Dispute Resolution Team, Kennedy has showcased her negotiation skills to a variety of former judges, attorneys, and government officials across the Mid-Atlantic region.
Kennedy has a strong background in public health, having earned a Bachelor of Sciences and Master of Public Health from Syracuse University. Her public health expertise includes program monitoring and evaluation, community partnership collaboration, social justice advocacy, and developing healthcare initiatives.
