Robert W. Katz, Of Counsel

Bob chaired the Firm's Personal Injury Group, since joining Gordon Feinblatt in 1982. He concentrated his practice in the handling of personal injury claims, primarily plaintiff and some defense. His areas of practice included all areas of tort litigation, including, for example, auto accidents, premises liability, products liability, toxic torts, air crash accidents, railroad accidents, injury claims arising under maritime and admiralty jurisdiction, and worker's compensation.
Bob remains a member of the Maryland State Bar Association and a sustaining member of the American Association for Justice. In 2014, Bob was named to the "Top 100 Trial Lawyers" list by the National Trial Lawyers' and he remained a member of this distinguished group. In 2003, he was named as an "Outstanding Lawyer of America," and he was also elected to the Maryland Eagles Club of the Maryland Association for Justice. In 1997, he was inducted into the Million Dollar Advocates Forum and he presently remains a member.
Prior to joining Gordon Feinblatt, Bob was a trial attorney for the Federal Aviation Administration Office of Chief Counsel from 1973 to 1974 where he handled medical/legal cases, and for the Department of Justice, Civil Division, Torts Section as a trial attorney from 1974 to 1976, where he handled air crash cases. At the Justice Department, he received merit awards each year for his success as a trial attorney defending the United States in complex, wrongful death cases involving up to 125 fatalities from a single air crash accident. Thereafter, Bob was Counsel to The Chesapeake and Potomac Telephone Company of Maryland where he handled personal injury defense litigation.
