Barry is a Member in the firm’s Business Law group, where he counsels businesses, institutions and individuals on a wide range of complex legal and business matters.
He has more than 25 years of experience advising a diverse client base that includes state government contractors, financial institutions, bankruptcy litigation trusts, professional athletes, sports organizations, public figures, artists and businesses across a range of industries.
Barry has handled significant matters involving bankruptcy-related litigation, state procurement bid protests, professional malpractice, complex fraud, telecast rights disputes, Lanham Act claims, automotive product liability and condemnation proceedings.
Barry also brings mediation and dispute resolution training to his work with clients. He is trained in facilitative mediation and draws on his extensive litigation experience and background in negotiation to help parties navigate complex disputes. Barry’s approach focuses on identifying the interests of the parties and developing practical solutions that can lead to meaningful resolution.
Barry also serves as an adjunct professor at the University of Maryland Francis King Carey School of Law, where he teaches Negotiations and Sports and the Law and coaches the law school’s Alternative Dispute Resolution Team.
Barry is committed to serving the legal profession and the broader community. He serves on the Law Links Committee of Maryland Youth and the Law (MYLaw), which places Baltimore City high school students in paid summer internships with law firms and legal organizations. He has also served on the Board of Directors of the Central Maryland Chapter of the American Red Cross.
