Bob Katz chaired and founded the personal injury group more than 40 years ago. The Bob Katz Law team currently has over 25 dedicated staff members, including attorneys and paralegals. Our team of attorneys and paralegals have decades of combined legal experience handling personal injury matters and we have recovered hundreds of millions of dollars for  clients.  The members of Bob Katz Law, collectively, have been recognized nationally by The National Trial Lawyers Top 100, The National Trial Lawyers Top 40 Under 40, the Million Dollar Advocates Forum, America’s Top 100 Attorneys, and Maryland Super Lawyers. Membership in some of these of these organizations is exclusively limited to 1% of all practicing lawyers.

Bob concentrated his practice in the handling of personal injury claims, primarily plaintiff and some defense. His areas of practice included all areas of tort litigation, including, for example, auto accidents, premises liability, products liability, toxic torts, air crash accidents, railroad accidents, injury claims arising under maritime and admiralty jurisdiction, and worker's compensation. Bob is proud of the team he built within this department

Bob remains a member of the Maryland State Bar Association and a sustaining member of the American Association for Justice. In 2014, Bob was named to the "Top 100 Trial Lawyers" list by the National Trial Lawyers' and he remained a member of this distinguished group. In 2003, he was named as an "Outstanding Lawyer of America," and he was also elected to the Maryland Eagles Club of the Maryland Association for Justice. In 1997, he was inducted into the Million Dollar Advocates Forum and he presently remains a member.

At the Justice Department, he received merit awards each year for his success as a trial attorney defending the United States in complex, wrongful death cases involving up to 125 fatalities from a single air crash accident. Thereafter, Bob was Counsel to The Chesapeake and Potomac Telephone Company of Maryland where he handled personal injury defense litigation.
