Jerry is a senior Member in the firm's Litigation practice group and has 35 years of experience practicing law. He is a Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers. His practice focuses on complex commercial, intellectual property, family law and appellate litigation. Jerry has been listed in Best Lawyers in America® since 2006, Benchmark Litigation (Appellate, Commercial and Intellectual Property), Chambers® and Super Lawyers® (Business Litigation). Jerry's undergraduate degree is in computer science. Prior to joining Gordon Feinblatt LLC, Jerry clerked for a federal appellate judge.
Jerry handles a broad range of trial and appellate matters in federal and state courts as well as alternative dispute resolution. He has litigated commercial matters involving contract disputes, statutory and common law business torts, antitrust, trademarks, trade secrets, patent disputes, securities law issues, partnership and corporate disputes and derivative actions, first-party insurance coverage, trust and estates, qui tam (false claims act), ERISA, employment, review of administrative proceedings, tax refund, construction, and UCC issues.
Jerry has represented property owners and developers in numerous real estate disputes, and represented taking authorities and property owners in eminent domain cases. Jerry appears in matters involving requests for temporary restraining orders and preliminary injunctive relief, the imposition of resulting or constructive trusts and other equitable remedies, the appointment of trustees or special masters, class actions, derivative actions, arbitration, and mediation. Jerry has handled more than 35 appeals. Jerry has represented employers in defending a broad range of employment related claims in federal and state courts, including ERISA-based claims, violation of the Fair Labor Standards Act, wage claims, and cases alleging improper termination, employment discrimination and retaliation.
Jerry's family law cases have involved complex economic issues including the valuation of full and partial interests in a wide range of businesses and real estate ventures; the valuation of deferred compensation, stock rights and qualified and nonqualified retirement vehicles; the valuation of institutional and professional goodwill; isolating the marital and nonmarital components of assets; tracing and proof of assets; proof of cash flow; indefinite alimony; the validity of prenuptial agreements; and piercing the corporate veil. Jerry drafts and negotiates prenuptial agreements.
