James Kimble focuses his practice in employee benefits representing multi-employer pension, royalty, training and welfare benefit plans, including defined benefit plans, profit-sharing plans, money purchase plans and 401(k) plans in the Mid-Atlantic region and nationally. Jim counsels and represents plans in all aspects of plan administration, including plan drafting and compliance issues.
Jim represents employee benefit plans before the U.S. Department of Labor, the Internal Revenue Service, and the Pension Benefit Guaranty Corporation, Inc. In addition, Jim has extensive ERISA litigation experience, including the defense of employee benefit plans and their trustees from denial of benefit and breach of fiduciary duty claims. He has represented employee benefit plans' claims in numerous bankruptcy matters throughout the country. Jim advises plans with respect to the assessment and collection of employer withdrawal liability.
